Port Perry Hospital Updates

Updates via Lakeridge Health.

To All Friends and Supporters of Port Perry Hospital

On August 25th, our hospital caught fire. Many of us are still reeling from the shock of this terrible event, but rapid response from hospital staff and emergency responders kept our patients safe. On behalf of Port Perry Hospital Foundation’s Board of Directors and staff, I extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to those courageous individuals.

While it breaks my heart to see the damage to the hospital where my wife Stephanie and I experienced two of the most important events of our lives – the births of our children – I am confident that with your continuing support, we will overcome this challenge.

I understand from Lakeridge Health officials that technical services are already in place to assess and clean before reconstruction begins. We have been assured that equipment purchased with donations has been secured. The inpatient unit, which was extensively remodelled with funds raised through our Your Hospital, Your Future campaign, will look brand new when it reopens.

The Foundation has set up a temporary location at 246 Queen St, Port Perry.  Donations can be made:

  • Through our website on our “Ways to Give” page, online through Canada Helps,
  • By mail addressed to
    Port Perry Hospital Foundation
    451 Paxton Street
    Port Perry, ON L9L 1L9,
  • At the Port Perry branch of the Bank of Nova Scotia, and
  • Visit the Foundation office, 246 Queen St, weekdays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Every effort is being made to ensure that Port Perry Hospital becomes operational as quickly as possible. We are deeply grateful for your continued support as we work together to restore our hospital to its vital role in our community.

Sincerely,
