Second Annual BGIP Summer Event Indeed Spectacular

On Friday, June 7th, guests gathered together for the second annual BGIP Summer Spectacular with a kick off to summer fun even before summer arrived. This event was a lovely evening of food, entertainment, dancing and philanthropy, hosted at Trillium Trails Banquet & Conference Centre.

Brian Gribben of Brian Gribben Insurance Planning (BGIP) generously hosted the event that included live music from Jordan John and his All Star Band, covering all expenses, and encouraged guests to make personal donations to the Port Perry Hospital Foundation.

The Belmont Rapid Infuser R1-2
Lakeridge Health's highest priority medical equipment request at Port Perry Hospital.

A rapid infuser is used to administer warmed blood products at rapid rates for patients in critical condition.

Blood is life....When a patient is hemorrhaging and their life is in the balance, the use of a rapid infuser replenishing that lost blood can be lifesaving.

This updated rapid infuser means more confidence and ease of use for our medical team when every second counts.

Brian’s goal this year, was to raise enough funds to purchase an updated state-of-the-art rapid infuser. This piece of equipment was among the highest priority needs for Port Perry Hospital. Rapid infusion is required when a patient is hemorrhaging and the rapid replacement of blood or blood product is key to keeping them alive while the source of the hemorrhage can be addressed.

Once again Brian Gribben envisioned the event as not only a memorable evening but also an inspiration for guests to pay it forward with BGIP once again leading the way—and Brian’s guests did just that. Brian and Lorraine made a significant lead donation to jumpstart the fundraising, while Lake Scugog Lumber added a generous contribution to propel it further. Ron and Nancy Compton also generously contributed, setting the stage for fundraising success. Inspired by this combined generosity, other guests rose to the challenge.

Thank you to the attendees, donors and volunteers collectively over $77,000 was raised. This is incredible and ensures the purchase of the rapid infuser, with additional funds supporting other hospital essential equipment.

Heartfelt thanks yet again to Brian and Lorraine Gribben of BGIP for hosting such an incredibly impactful event, and to Susan O’Connor also of BGIP for all her work behind the scenes coordinating everything to perfection. Thank you to all the incredibly generous guests helping to achieve something indeed spectacular for Port Perry Hospital Foundation before summer even started.
