STRONG in Scugog Makes a Powerful First Impression!
On Saturday, October 4th, 2025, the Port Perry Fairgrounds came alive with energy, laughter, teamwork, and community pride as STRONG in Scugog officially made its debut—and what a debut it was.
Designed to welcome all ages and all abilities, the event truly had something for everyone. Adults, teens, juniors, vendors, and spectators gathered to enjoy a full day of excitement, complete with a jumping castles, food, local vendors, raffles, and a silent auction. The atmosphere was electric, family-friendly, and filled with encouragement from start to finish.

This inaugural year of STRONG in Scugog brought together 104 determined participants, competing in teams of four, each pushing themselves mentally and physically through a series of fun yet demanding challenges. From obstacle courses and relay races to potato sack races, ball hockey shootouts, tire flips, sled pushes, burpee broad jumps, climbing challenges, and the unforgettable Old Flame keg carry, the day tested mental toughness, cardio endurance, motivation, and strength.
And the results? Simply inspiring. Spectators and organizers alike were blown away by the grit, sportsmanship, and teamwork on display.
Beyond the sweat and smiles, STRONG in Scugog had a powerful purpose. Thanks to the incredible generosity of participants, sponsors, and the wider community, the event proudly raised $30,000 for the Port Perry Hospital Foundation, supporting vital local healthcare in North Durham.
This event would not have been possible without the overwhelming support from the community. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed staging décor, raffle items, and silent auction prizes—your generosity added so much to the experience.
A huge thank you to the sponsors, with special recognition to Elite Sponsor, First Onsite, for their outstanding support.
And of course, thank you to the volunteers who showed up early, stayed late, and kept everything running smoothly. Your time, energy, and enthusiasm did not go unnoticed.
STRONG in Scugog was created by three passionate small business owners who shared a vision of movement, connection, and giving back—and turned it into something truly special:
- Jennifer Sawyer – North End Fitness
- Brook-Lynn Luchka – Osteo Pathways
- Courtney Ayres – Kids Yoga
Your leadership and heart made this event unforgettable.
If the first year was any indication, STRONG in Scugog is just getting started.
