Quality health care is stretched beyond what is possible solely from provincial healthcare funding. Quality health care also depends on the investment of caring individuals and businesses – people like you. Over the past five years alone, community support through Port Perry Hospital Foundation has equaled nearly $5 million in grants to Port Perry Hospital for enhancements to health care services.

Grants made possible through donations over the past few years include:

  • Diagnostic Imaging Equipment

Introducing a brand-new CT Scanner to Port Perry Hospital for the first time – made possible thanks to the Here for you $4 million fundraising campaign.  As well for the CT Suite, equipment like a vital signs monitor, a blanket warmer, and soon, the arrival of a new and updated ultrasound unit with echocardiogram capabilities.

  • Emergency Department Equipment

A state-of-the-art portable Sonosite ultrasound unit, four highly efficient and effective patient monitoring systems, new patient stretchers to provide a bit more comfort at the worst of times, an iCare tonometer, and a replacement bladder scanner.  Coming soon –  new overhead trauma room lights.

  • Surgical Unit Equipment

CMAC video laryngoscopy system used for unexpected difficult airways, surgical laparoscopic tower, portable SonoSite ultrasound unit, 14 vital signs monitors, 4 Telemetry Telepacks so patients requiring cardiac monitors can be more mobile, CADD Solis Pumps and an updated bladder scanner.

  • Lab Equipment

Plasma Thaw Bath for rapid thawing of fresh plasma for trauma patients, a Sero-Fuge designed for blood cell washing and separation procedures, and urinalysis equipment.

  • New Life Centre Equipment

Easy access and height adjustable bassinets so new recovering moms can more easily lift their newborn(s), sleep chairs which provide a resting spot for birthing partners, and an Intraosseous (IO) Vascular Gun to rapidly administer medications through the bone marrow cavity for a newborn in distress.

  • Equipment for all Areas

Including five manual defibrillators to ensure lifesaving care is readily available throughout the hospital as well as on medical transports.

We thank our community for your support to make the above possible. Visit our Fundraising Priorities page to see our current priorities. Together, we can continue to provide the very best in health care for our community.
