Construction Starts on the New CT Scanner Suite at Port Perry Hospital!
The Port Perry Hospital Foundation and Lakeridge Health are pleased to share that the CT Scanner planned for Lakeridge Health’s Port Perry Hospital is expected to arrive and be installed in Spring 2023.
Construction to create a dedicated suite for the new computerized tomography (CT) scanner at the Port Perry Hospital will begin in April with the CT scanner anticipated to be operational by mid-June!

“We’re so excited to have reached another important milestone in bringing this urgently needed diagnostic imaging tool to our North Durham community,” said Ron Burke, Director, Diagnostic Imaging, Lakeridge Health. “The new state-of-the-art CT scanner at Port Perry Hospital will shorten the time from diagnosis to treatment for patients and, at times, will be key to saving a life.”
CT scans are used to diagnose an injury and/or determine medical treatment, very often in emergency situations. Currently, all Port Perry Hospital patients who need a CT scan are transferred to another hospital for their scan before treatment can begin.
We’re grateful to the many donors who supported the Port Perry Hospital Foundation’s Here for You fundraising campaign to bring a CT scanner and other essential equipment to Port Perry Hospital. Thanks to their support, our talented teams will have advanced medical equipment that will assist them as they provide the best and safest care to our patients.
Stay tuned for further updates as we move forward with the introduction of the CT scanner!
The diagnostic imaging team, as well as the community await the completion of this exciting project. Soon to be “Here for You”!
