Port Perry Hospital upgrades include patient experience enhancements

New video outlines improvements to Port Perry hospital’s New Life Centre:

Durham Region – Improving the overall patient experience is an important component of our ongoing commitment to restore and reopen Port Perry Hospital. As work continues, a new video released May 25th, highlights the partnership between Lakeridge Health and the Port Perry Hospital Foundation and the improvements underway to enhance the experience at the hospital’s New Life Centre.

While the temporary closure of Port Perry Hospital has been difficult for North Durham residents, it has given us the unique opportunity to complete additional upgrades to improve many of our patient care areas,” said Matthew Anderson, Lakeridge Health President and CEO.

New Life Centre improvements include upgrades to patient rooms include washroom facilities. The Foundation is also asking for community support to help raise funds for equipment such as cardiac and fetal monitors, phototherapy lights, and other items to help support families.

These enhancements will make Port Perry Hospital a more modern health facility by better meeting the needs of patients and families in our community,” said Rachel Agnoluzzi, Port Perry Hospital Foundation CEO. “Through the generous support of the community, we look forward to these additional upgrades, which will allow us to keep pace with larger community hospitals.”

Restoration efforts continue and construction is slated for completion by early July. Lakeridge Health and the Port Perry Hospital Foundation will continue to work together to open a more enhanced version of the hospital the first week in September to better serve the needs of those living in North Durham.
