Starting the New Year Strong!
Thank you for Making a Difference this past Holiday Season!
Our community’s generosity has helped to start 2025 in amazing ways!
This holiday season, we have been so grateful for the incredible generosity that will soon be making a tangible difference in the lives of our patients, enabling our medical teams to enhance care and comfort in ways only possible with community support.
Thanks to your contributions, many of the items on our wish list are on their way to Port Perry Hospital including :

The purchase of a state-of-the-art mechanical transport ventilator to improve critical care services across the entire hospital. This ventilator is suitable for use in adults and even for infants in the New Life Centre in emergency situations. We don’t have to look back far to the early days of COVID to recall the importance of ventilators.

Replacing worn-out wheelchairs, and adding to our fleet. As we all know, wheelchairs are used constantly throughout every part of the hospital and these additions will provide mobility, dignity, and comfort for patients in need.

Equipping our New Life Centre (NLC) with Bili Blankets, which along with an updated Phototherapy light, are better ensuring our smallest patients who need care for jaundice receive the care they need. The added bonus, these blankets allow new moms to cuddle their newborns while continuing their treatment for jaundice.
Coming soon, the installation of new waiting room seating in the Emergency Department.
While not traditional medical equipment, replacing our hospital’s old and damaged waiting room chairs is important for patient wellbeing. In fact, patient feedback forms frequently reference these chairs as somewhere we need to do better. And we agree, replacing these chairs also addresses infection protection and safety. The chairs are being updated through the generosity of a small handful of donors who understood their importance in our busy Emergency Dept. The chairs will soon be here, adding a degree of comfort to many having to visit the ED.
A special thanks to everyone who went the extra mile in the holiday season mail strike. The true upside of the mail strike was getting to speak by phone, or see and meet so many of you as you called or even dropped your donations into the foundation office. So many supporters, we know by name, but it was so lovely to connect more personally if even for a few minutes.
And as we start the new year, our thanks to those who have chosen to forward their “Ford” government rebate cheque to Port Perry Hospital Foundation. We hadn’t anticipated this and are grateful.
